GNM Entrance Examination Details
- Date of Exam: 14th July 2024 (Sunday)
- Exam Locations: Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Silchar, Jorhat, Barpeta, Tezpur, Diphu, Lakhimpur, Kokrajhar
- Exam Duration: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Question Paper Composition:
- English: 50 marks
- Mathematics: 25 marks
- General Science: 25 marks
- Total Marks: 100 (100 questions x 1 mark each)
- Language: Questions are available in both English and Assamese, but the OMR sheet must be filled in English.
- Negative Marking: None
GNM Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission into the GNM course, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Age Limit:
- Minimum age: 17 years (on or before 31st December 2024)
- Maximum age: 35 years
- No age bar for ANM/LHS candidates
- Educational Qualifications:
- HSSLC (10+2) or equivalent passed, preferably in Science (PCB) & English with an aggregate of 40% marks.
- 10+2 in Arts (with specified subjects) and English Core/Elective or Health Care Science Vocational Board with 40% marks.
- 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or equivalent with 40% marks.
- Registered as ANM with the State Nursing Registration Council.
- Medically fit.
- Qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science or Health Care Science – Vocational stream conducted by National Institute of Open School with 40% marks.
- Reservation of Seats in Government Institutes:
- OBC/MOBC: 27%
- STP: 10%
- SC: 7%
- STH: 5%
- EWS: 10%
Additional reservations are provided for Tai Ahom, Koch Rajbongshi, Moran, Matak, Chutia communities, and TGL/Ex-TGL within the OBC/MOBC reserved category.
Important Notes for GNM
- Merit List: Prepared based on total marks obtained in the entrance examination. In case of a tie, preference is given in the following order:
- More marks in English
- More marks in General Science
- Marks in English, then General Science, then Mathematics of the qualifying examination during counselling
- Cut-off Scores:
- General (UR/EWS): 50th Percentile
- SC/ST/OBC (NCL): 40th Percentile
- Divyang: 45th Percentile
- Document Verification: This will be done at the time of counseling. Candidates are not required to send any documents with the online application.
